Alison Smith, 29, handed herself into the police and confessed
to having a one night stand with the teenager.
She was suspended by Bankhead Academy in Aberdeen in July
and has since left her post as a special needs teacher.
She had sexual intercourse with the boy on June 15 this year
after he went to her flat in the city with two friends.
Aberdeen sheriff court was told that they listened to music and watched films
before going into her bedroom while the other two,
who were boyfriend and girlfriend, stayed in the living room.
Elaine Lynch, prosecuting, said:
"Smith and the boy began to kiss each other and he undressed Smith.
Following this they had sexual intercourse."
The court was told that teenager stayed the night but the pair did not discuss
what had happened the following day.
Around two weeks later Smith, who was known to pupils as "Ali",
confided in friends and then attended a police station near the school.
She told officers that they talked before the boy took off his t-shirt
and changed into pyjama bottoms. She also said that the teenager
had instigated the kissing but the sex had "just kind of evolved".
Smith pleaded guilty to having sex with the 15-year-old,
but her lawyer John McLeod pointed out that she was instrumental
in the case going to court. She will be sentenced next month.
It is understand the pair were also seen out together one night
at a rock concert where their picture was taken.
The General Teaching Council is expected to hold its own investigation
into the incident and it is likely that the teacher will be struck off
the register and banned from working with children.
The case first came to light at the end of the school term this summer
when the headmaster announced that a teacher had been suspended.
Smith did not return to the school.
The incident happened a year after Bankhead Academy was criticised
by inspectors for having "poor leadership".
